Dunwoody Police Department is accepting applications for the Citizen's Police Academy

Police Academy Graduates

The Dunwoody Police Department hosts a Citizen's Police Academy several times a year. The next class will begin on July 24th.  The academy is ten weeks long and is held on Tuesday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The academy covers a variety of topics to include, but not limited to:  Traffic Enforcement, Gangs, SWAT, Detective Division, Patrol, Special Weapons and Tactics, Community Outreach Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Evidence.  Included in the academy is a tour of the Dekalb County Jail and the new ChattComm 911 center in Sandy Springs.

There are a limited number of spaces available for the academy; therefore, registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Please download the application below and turn it into the front desk at 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 100, Dunwoody, GA 30346.  There will be a background check conducted on each applicant.   If you have any questions, please contact Sgt.
